Remember yesterday's run? I do! So much so, I decided to run it again today. Again, an awesome run, only better! I was able to run up and back faster, for two reasons, I think. One, I knew where I was going so the "fog of war" was not there. Second, I left a few minutes early today than yesterday, so on the way down I was able to run faster because there was more light for just a little bit longer. Plus I brought a flashlight this time anticipating the skyballoffire dropping into the ocean.
What I didn't anticipate was that I'm a bonehead. I brought the camera on this run with the intent to take a couple pictures to post on here and Facebook. Well, I put it in a Ziplock baggie in case it was wet. Good call: it flat out rained on me. That was fun! I put in a fresh battery, this camera's two batteries tend to zap out very quickly. Good call: plenty of power when it was time to take the desired photo. I even remembered to put the memory card into the camera. Good call: I had taken it out to download photos from last week's FRG awards ceremony.
But when I got to my fabulous view and whipped out the camera, it wouldn't take pictures. The screen said the "card is locked." Yeah, of course it's "locked," in it's little compartment with the battery. Now take a damned picture!
Nothing doing.
I figured that there was some sort of software lock on the memory card, so I checked that when I got back. Couldn't find one.
Just happened to see a notch on the card when I pulled it out of the computer to throw it across the room. What's this notch? I dunno but it says "lock" next to it. Huh. And a little slider moves up and down.
Doh!
Sir if you don't mind the suggestion try an all-weather or waterproof type compact camera next time your in the market.Canon, Nikon,Pentax all have models to offer but expect to pay about $100 more than the regular models. No rain problems and some limited diving usage.
